Liverpool striker Fernando Torres insists he places club success above personal glory at Anfield.
The Spain international was a revelation in his debut campaign in England - scoring 24 goals in the Premier League, a record for a foreign signing - to earn third place in the recent Fifa World Player of the Year awards for 2008.
Torres has been blighted by hamstring injuries in 2008/09 but has still managed to average one goal in every three games in all competitions as Liverpool chase silverware following two barren campaigns.
And the 24-year-old is adamant that he would rather help his club to lift trophies than to break personal records, although an ideal situation would be to secure both.
"I would like to stay in the history of Liverpool, of course," Torres told Sky Sports News.
"I will try to score many goals. Not for the record, but to help my team and support my club.
"If I can score and make a record of my own, it is fantastic for me."
