Megson - Bids in for two players

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson could bring in up to four new players before Monday's transfer deadline.

Megson has been active in adding to his squad during January after signing Sebastien Puygrenier, Ariza Makukula and Mark Davies.

He has seen several bids for other players rejected and has also ended his interest in Miguel Veloso after being priced out of a deal for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

Rangers captain Barry Ferguson is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Reebok Stadium, with less than two days of the window remaining.

Confirming his interest in Veloso is over, Megson also revealed he is still making concerted efforts to improve his Bolton squad.

"We've been trying for a long time, but the amount of money they want, I wouldn't feel comfortable paying that, and nobody else will," said Megson of the Veloso situation.

"As far as I'm concerned it's finished. We've got two offers in for two players and interest in two others, and we need to bring them in."
