Hodgson hopes for Bullard stay

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson hopes to keep hold of Jimmy Bullard in January after revealing he has not received a fresh approach from Bolton.

The Trotters tabled a bid - believed to be in the region of £5million - for the midfielder earlier in the week, but that was swiftly deemed under value by Fulham.

Rumour has suggested that Bullard could still leave Craven Cottage during the winter transfer window, with reports suggesting negotiations for a new contract have stalled.

But Hodgson is optimistic the 29-year-old, who has also been linked with Arsenal, will stay in West London in the wake of Bolton boss Gary Megson's failure to follow up initial interest.

"I have heard nothing. We have heard nothing. I do not know what Bolton are doing," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

"They spoke to me some days ago. At the time they made an enquiry and were told our valuation of the player and they offered something considerably less.

"I presume if they are not interested, they are not interested.

"We have had that enquiry, which you know about because Megson made it public, but that is it at the moment.

"We have had that enquiry. If they are not pursuing it, then that is good news because we will be able to keep him."
