Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has tipped Steve Bruce's Wigan Athletic to secure a European berth this season.
The Latics currently sit seventh in the Premier League table after winning six of their last eight outings.
And, ahead of Saturday's encounter against his former Manchester United team-mate, Hughes has praised the quality of Bruce's side.
"Wigan are doing very well," said the Welshman, who continues to pursue AC Milan star Kaka.
"They are a good solid side and if they continue from now until the end of the season in the same manner as the past few months, they will have aspirations of Europe.
"I am sure Steve will not really want to talk about that but it may well be possible for them."
