Bundesliga outfit Cologne are reported to be keeping tabs on West Brom defender Marek Cech in a bid to solve their left-back crisis.
Christoph Daum's side are currently without cover in the left side of their defence after Pierre Wome joined Umit Ozat on the sidelines.
The RheinEnergieStadion outfit have hinted they will make a move 25-year-old Slovakia international who is down Tony Mowbray's pecking order at the Hawthorns.
However, following Paul Robinson's dismissal against Manchester United on Tuesday, Cech could be in line for a first-team run if the Baggies' appeal against the red card fails.
Cologne are believed to have made a bid to West Brom that could see Cech join them on loan for the rest of the season, although whether the Midlands outfit are willing to part with his services remains to be seen.
"I agree with Christoph, we are having two real full-back players out of action with Umit Ozat and Pierre Wome," chairman Wolfgang Overath told Express.
"If we can find the right ones now, we could do a deal."
