Cole joy at personal form

Ashley Cole has hailed Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari's influence on his form this season.

Cole joined the Blues from London rivals Arsenal in 2006 but initially struggled to replicate his previously impressive displays for the Gunners.

This campaign, however, Cole has shone for Chelsea, with Scolari preferring that his full-backs provide a regular attacking threat.

England international Cole told the Evening Standard: "The manager changed the way we play, he wants the full-backs to attack. People used to say that was my game and I'm really enjoying attacking again.

"This is the best I have played since I came to Chelsea. He has given me a lot more opportunity to get forward. We have shown that the more me and (Jose) Bosingwa get forward, it is hard for the opposition to mark us."

Cole has recorded 20 Premier League starts this season, with Chelsea currently second in the table, two points behind leaders Manchester United.
