Joe Kinnear is hoping to add more players to his Newcastle United squad before the close of the transfer window.
The Magpies signed Kevin Nolan from Bolton Wanderers on Friday and the midfielder made his debut in Sunday's derby with Sunderland.
Ryan Taylor is also waiting to complete a move to St James' Park in a deal which will see the wantaway Charles N'Zogbia join Wigan Athletic.
Newcastle boss Kinnear met owner Mike Ashley on Saturday night to discuss the potential for further arrivals before Monday's deadline.
Kinnear confirmed he has lined up several options and is keen to recruit at least two more players before the window shuts.
"We spoke last night," Kinnear told Sky Sports 1 about his meeting with Ashley.
"We're trying to get a few more faces in and we've got a few irons in the fire.
"Hopefully, something will turn round for us in the next 24 hours where we can add maybe another two decent players to the squad."
