Fagan - We can survive

Hull City striker Craig Fagan believes the hard-working Tigers can stay in the Premier League.

After a run of six successive defeats, the Tigers finally moved off 27 points with a 2-2 draw against basement side West Brom at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

While some pundits will see the result as two points dropped after City twice took the lead, Fagan - who scored in the 69th minute - disagrees.

He said: "It was definitely a point gained and I think the manager will be really pleased with the performance.

"I think the lads can take a lot of confidence from it and go into the next game believing.

"Now we are off the 27-point mark we have to go down and try to get something at Chelsea.

"There are lots of games left in the league and we have gone to Arsenal and Liverpool and taken good points. Who's to say we can't go to Chelsea and get three points?

"The workrate from everyone was tremendous from the start of the game and if we carry that on, I can't see it being a problem, staying in the league."

Fagan - who has missed three months of the current season with a broken leg - started alongside Richard Garcia in a surprise attacking combination.

But he was pleased with the partnership, saying it reminded him of their time together at Colchester.

He added: "We worked on it during the week.

"I have played with Richard before at Colchester. It wasn't something new and we just linked up like in the old days. I enjoyed it.

"And being a Birmingham lad, I know a lot of my Blues family will be happy with me scoring against the Baggies.

"I'm delighted with that but disappointed we didn't get the win."
