Gary Megson has admitted it was an emotional rollercoaster watching Bolton run out 3-2 winners against Spurs.
The Trotters were leading 2-0 on 64 minutes thanks to goals from Sebastien Puygrenier and Kevin Davies before the visitors hit back.
Just like Bolton did against Blackburn in midweek they surrendered a two-lead thanks to Darren Bent's quick-fire brace.
However, Bolton emerged victorious on this occasion thanks to Kevin Davies' late winner and Megson was pleased with his side's battling qualities.
Megson reserved special praise for stand-in captain Kevin Davies and new signing Mark Davies who recently joined the club from Wolves after spending time on loan with Leicester.
"I, like probably everyone else in the ground, would have had all the emotions that you're thinking," said Megson. "I was thinking we can get back into this because we've been the best side right up until the last five minutes.
"Then you're looking at the quality of their team and it's packed with internationals and the players they are bringing on have cost millions. And you're thinking we might need to get out of this with a point.
"You've also got what went on during the week at Blackburn. What happened today was huge amount of positives. We were in a position today were I was thinking let's see how we react.
"Kevin Davies has stepped into the breach of captaincy brilliantly. Not just his goals, but his performance. His leadership has come to the fore.
"The other one is Mark Davies, coming into the team. It's difficult for any young player coming into a Premier League side. Zokora, Palacios and Modric were out there. Then there was this young kid from Wolves and he was brilliant."
