Andreasen seals Bundesliga return

Midfielder Leon Andreasen has ended his unproductive spell in the Premier League after leaving Fulham and signing for Hannover.

The Denmark international was well down manager Roy Hodgson's pecking order this season after making just six league appearances, all from the bench.

Hannover's hopes of signing the former Werder Bremen and FSV Mainz man appeared to be fading after sporting director Martin Kind claimed Hodgson was blocking a deal, but an agreement was eventually struck.

The 25-year-old has now signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the AWD-Arena outfit that ties him to the club until the summer of 2012.

"In Leon Andreasen we've signed a defensive player who is versatile. I'm looking forward to working with him," head coach Dieter Hecking told the club's official website.
