Mauro Zarate's agent has quashed suggestions Manchester City have bid £27.2million for the Al-Sadd star.
The Argentine midfielder, who spent time on loan at Birmingham last season, is now on loan with Serie A side Lazio.
It had been suggested City could usurp Lazio's attempts to secure Zarate's services permanently by brokering their own deal with the Qatar outfit.
However, Zarate's agent and brother Sergio says no City bid has been lodged and that the 21-year-old is happy in Rome.
"The English side never offered €30million (£27.2m)," said Zarate's agent.
"It's something that's also surfaced in Italy but for the moment it's not true.
"Mauro, of whom all we know the value, is really happy in Rome."
