Manchester United will embark on a four-match tour of the Far East in the middle of July this year.

Club chief executive David Gill announced in Monaco that the Club World Cup champions will open their trip on 18th July in China, followed by games in South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have a huge following in Asia and Gill believes the tour provides an excellent opportunity for the club's fans to see their heroes in action.

"Our tours to Asia are always special," said Gill.

"The atmosphere generated by the supporters is amazing. The club enjoys unrivalled support across the continent and it is great to give those fans the opportunity to see their heroes in action in their own country."

United are due to take on K-League's FC Seoul or Suwon Bluewings at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on 20th July, but neither side have received communication about the exhibition match and clashes with the domestic league schedule seem inevitable.

"We have yet to hear from Manchester United," FC Seoul general manager Han Woong-soo told Yonhap News Agency.

"The proposed schedule may pose a problem."
