Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is still looking to bolster his attacking options despite Jermain Defoe's return.
Redknapp hinted following Spurs' 1-0 win over Wigan on Sunday that the club would go with what they currently have for the remainder of the season, but Swanson has learned they could yet bring Adriano to White Hart Lane.
Adriano's future at the San Siro remains unclear after former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho hit out at the gifted forward over his alleged lack of commitment towards the cause.
Mourinho may now be willing to part with the fiery 26-year-old for the remainder of the season if ex-Southampton left-back Bale moves in the opposite direction.
