Manchester City's Robinho has been arrested and bailed following a police investigation into an alleged sexual assault.
The Brazilian met with police as part of a criminal investigation following a complaint made by an 18-year-old woman.
West Yorkshire police have confirmed that a man had been arrested on Tuesday in connection with an incident that occurred on 14th January.
The player's spokesman Chris Nathaniel said: "We can confirm that Robinho met the police today, as pre-arranged and as part of a criminal investigation.
"He strenuously denies any allegation of wrongdoing or criminality."
Manchester City have yet to pass comment on whether Robinho will figure in Wednesday night's clash with Newcastle United.
