O'Neill won't sell 'priceless' duo

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has warned any potential suitors that he considers Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young 'priceless'.

Agbonlahor and Young have shone for Villa this season, netting a combined total of 14 Premier League goals, with the club currently an impressive fourth in the table.

The form of the pacey duo has led to reports suggesting major European sides could bid for their services, but O'Neill has stressed they are not for sale.

He said: "Those boys like Ashley and 'Gabby' are irreplaceable.

"They are priceless to us, absolutely priceless to us. I wouldn't contemplate it [selling either player]."

O'Neill has made no secret of his desire to bolster his squad but is refusing to reveal his targets, amid rumours of interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent.

"There will be plenty of speculation flying around. I can't dampen that or quell it. We are going to try and improve the team if we can," he said.

"It is not easy, I must admit - but it would be important that we do.

"It is not by design that I wait until the last minute in the transfer window. If I could have done it on 1st January, I would have done it when the window opened."
