Newcastle have confirmed the signing of Peter Lovenkrands on a deal until the end of the season.
The flying winger arrives on a free transfer after being released by Schalke earlier this month.
Lovenkrands has impressed Magpies boss Joe Kinnear during a two-week trial at St James' Park and the club have moved to sign him on a permanent basis.
The former Rangers man could make his debut against Manchester City next week and Lovenkrands is delighted to have made the move to Tyneside.
"I'm delighted to sign a deal until the end of the season," Lovenkrands told the club's official website.
"I now just can't wait for my debut at Man City next week."
