Frank Lampard insists Chelsea must cut out mistakes at set-pieces if the side are to give themselves a chance of beating Manchester United on Sunday.
The Blues have come up short late on recently with errors from dead-ball situations costing them dear against Fulham in the league and Southend in the FA Cup.
While Chelsea have been uncharacteristically leaky at the back, Lampard insists any lapses from set-pieces at Old Trafford could result in a third Premier League defeat of the campaign.
But Luis Felipe Scolari's side have been putting in extra work on the training ground this week in a bid to come away from their trip to United with a win that would move the side seven points clear of Sir Alex Ferguson.
"We have been working on set-pieces this week," said Lampard. "The errors have been very frustrating for everyone involved because we do work on them in training anyway.
"Sometimes it has been an individual error or a collective one, but it has been very important because we have dominated the last two games and we lost out on a set-piece in the final minute each time.
"We can't afford to let that happen against a team of Manchester United's calibre."
