Kinnear not worried over Owen

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear insists he is not worried by Michael Owen's recent goal drought.

Magpies skipper Owen has not found the net since the 3-0 win at Portsmouth on 14th December.

Owen has gone four games without finding the net, but Kinnear is confident the former Liverpool hit-man will be back firing soon.

"Michael did very well for us at Hull (in the FA Cup third round) in a game which we could have won," said Kinnear.

"He got into great positions and linked up well with Andy Carroll in our attack.

"That is all you can ask from your strikers, that they get into those positions.

"Michael is a world-class striker. Some weeks strikers score, and some weeks they do not."
