West Ham are keen on Rosenborg defender Mikael Lustig.
The Sweden international is believed to be attracting attention from Europe's top divisions after a number of eye-catching displays for his current employers.
Speculation had suggested that Gianfranco Zola's Hammers were prepared to make a move, with a £1million bid believed to be in the offing.
However, Lustig's agent insists there has been no approach from England and does not expect his client to be heading for Upton Park.
"It's just a rumour. There has been no contact between West Ham and Lustig." Lennart Nordgren told Adresseavisen.
"I know West Ham's head scout and know that he has been checking the Scandinavian market."
Rosenborg's media chief Nils Heldal has refused to comment on the speculation surrounding Lustig's future.
"I have nothing to say on this," he told fotbollskanalen.
"How has the interest been from other clubs? I don't wish to comment on that either.
"I am sorry, but there is nothing I can say right now."
