Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that they are the mystery club in talks to sign Derby youngster Giles Barnes.
Derby revealed earlier in the day that they had received a proposal from an unnamed Premier League outfit with a view to taking the midfielder on loan for the remainder of the season.
Fulham were heavily tipped to be the club in question as they look to find a replacement for the departed Jimmy Bullard, and boss Roy Hodgson has now confirmed that they are in negotiations for the temporary signing of Barnes.
"We're talking to Giles Barnes about a loan move," said Hodgson.
Dane departs
Meanwhile, Fulham defender Leon Andreasen has joined Bundesliga side Hannover after struggling to hold down first-team football in the capital.
"Leon Andreasen wants to go back to the Bundesliga for family reasons and we've had a good offer from Hannover," Hodgson added.
"Letting him go is the right thing to do but it leaves a gap in the squad."
The Dane moves on just over a year after joining the club from Werder Bremen.
