Egyptian claims Rovers interest

Egyptian winger Ahmed Al-Muhammadi claims Blackburn are chasing him and will watch him in action this weekend.

Al-Muhammadi has been on Blackburn's radar for a while after he underwent a trial at Ewood Park in November.

Any move was thought to be dead following the departure of Paul Ince, but it is believed Sam Allaryce is considering rekindling the club's interest in the winger.

Al-Muhammadi claims Blackburn's scouting staff have travelled to Egypt to watch him against Kenya on Friday and he believes a move to the Premier League is still on.

"The delegation will attend tonight's friendly game between Egypt and Kenya before meeting ENPPI officials on Saturday to discuss the transfer," Al-Muhammadi told FilGoal.com.

"The English club are keen on signing me before the closure of the transfer window.

"The appointment of Sam Allardyce as Blackburn coach did not change anything.

"Ince's assistants are still working at the club and they were convinced that I was good enough to play in the Premiership."

Al-Muhammadi also suggested Blackburn were interested in his fellow countryman Mahmoud Abdul-Razek 'Shikabala' and that they will also cast an eye over him in the game with Kenya.

"Blackburn officials watched a DVD containing the best of Shikabala.

"They will watch him in action when Egypt face Kenya at Cairo stadium."
