City yet to make Drogba offer

Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins insists the club have not received an approach from Manchester City regarding Didier Drogba.

The striker has been linked with the Stamford Bridge exit since the summer and recent rumours have suggested that City are lining up a January offer.

Reports have implied that City boss Mark Hughes could be prepared to offer British record signing Robinho in a swap deal for Drogba, who is not guaranteed first-team football in West London.

However, Wilkins is adamant that Chelsea have yet to be contacted by City regarding the Ivory Coast international.

"We haven't received anything at all from Manchester City regarding an offer for Didier," Wilkins told Sky Sports News.

"Didier is a massive part of our squad, in terms of his ability and what he can offer. We are delighted that he is here with us."

And Wilkins does not believe that Drogba - who has been left out of Luiz Felipe Scolari's last two squads - will be allowed to leave, even if City did make an approach.

"Of course every player in world football has his price but he's a massive part of our squad and he won't be going anywhere in the transfer window," added Wilkins.

"I think for the last 10 days his work ethic has been outstanding. He's trained very well and been in great spirits.

"He's been laughing and joking, he's been the leader of the pack. He's been in good form.

"Every player has little dips and it's about how you react. He's reacted in positive fashion."

Wilkins has also confirmed that Scolari is not planning to sign any new players during the winter transfer window.

"There won't be anyone coming in during the window. We're thrilled with the young players coming through here and we'll crack on with what we've got," he continued.

"Our squad is a big squad and if we lose players we have others who can fill the gap."
