Middlesbrough have denied reports that they have received a third bid from Tottenham for Stewart Downing.
It was claimed that Spurs had lodged a £14.5million approach for the winger on Wednesday.
Having already failed with moves of £6m and £11m it was thought that the North London giants were closing in on Boro's valuation.
However, the Teessiders insist no further offer has been made for the England international.
A spokesman said: "That's not true, we have not had another bid."
Downing's future remains unclear at present, with Spurs keen to buy and Boro reluctant to sell.
The 24-year-old has already seen a transfer request turned down as he looks to manufacture a move, with his current employers reluctant to sell their most saleable home-grown talent.
