Megson named top boss

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has been named Barclays Manager of the Month for November.

The Trotters chief received the accolade - his first ever - after guiding his side to four wins out of five league games during the month, including three victories out of three away from the Reebok Stadium.

The 12-point haul helped the Trotters jump out of the relegation zone up to ninth, and they currently sit in 10th in the league, five points above the drop zone.

Bolton began November's run with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at home before then defeating Hull City at the KC Stadium courtesy of a Matt Taylor strike.

They then suffered a 2-0 home loss to Liverpool before two profitable trips to the North East, first beating Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Riverside before defeating Sunderland 4-1 at the Stadium of Light.

The award is Megson's first-ever in the Barclays Premier League, with the Bolton boss having previously managed Norwich and West Brom in the top-flight.

He replaced Sammy Lee in the Wanderers hot-seat in November 2007 and kept the Trotters in the top-flight last term after a prolonged relegation battle.
