The winter transfer window will now close at 5pm on Monday, 2nd February, the Football Association has announced.
The decision to extend the window beyond the usual closer date of 31st January was reached after discussions with the Premier League and Football League.
This year, 31st January falls on a Saturday, with clubs now having an additional two days to complete their transfer business.
A similar extension was applied during the summer, with the window closing on September 1st, rather than Sunday, August 31st.
A statement on the FA website said: "After full consultation with our partners in the Premier League and Football League it has been agreed to push the transfer deadline through to 5pm on 2nd February.
"This is because 31st January falls on a Saturday and, in order to fall in line with procedures adopted by Foreign Associations, the closure has been moved from a weekend date to the first available week day.
"This is consistent with the decision taken in August when the deadline was extended to 1st September and has the support of the majority of national associations and European Leagues."
