City hope for Robinho boost

Robinho could be set to return to the Manchester City side on Saturday against Everton as he is poised to resume training in the next 48 hours.

The Brazil forward missed Saturday's 1-1 draw against Fulham as well as the midweek Uefa Cup clash against Paris St Germain because of a nagging ankle problem.

The club's record signing had enjoyed an impressive start to his City career until his recent plight, scoring nine goals in his debut season in England.

But after being given time to rest the troublesome injury, the 24-year-old is showing signs of recovery, according to assistant manager Mark Bowen.

"We are hoping that in the next couple of days he will be back in for full training," Bowen told the club's official website.

"He was not quite there on Saturday (a 1-1 draw against Fulham). Although he travelled down with us he was in a touch too much pain to take part."
