Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he is disappointed not to have taken all three points after coming from a goal behind to draw 1-1 with Hull City.
Ricardo Fuller's 72nd-minute penalty drew the hosts level after they had conceded at the end of the first half, but Pulis believes his side lacked the cutting edge needed to grab a winning goal.
Pulis says his team dominated for long periods of the game, but failed to capitalise on heavy patches of possession in the visitors' half of the field.
He said: "I was disappointed to come in at half-time losing 1-0. I think that was Hull's first effort at goal really.
"They had the one opportunity - it was a good head back but King comes inside the player who was marking him and scores. That is what happens at this level.
"We had a lot of possession at times up and around their box and around the sides where a little bit more quality going into the box would have helped us."
Pulis insists his side also had the best of the second half and he says he will look on the match as two points lost.
"The second half they came out and really, really got in to it all and you can't fault the character with this group of lads," Pulis said.
"I said, 'keep going - whatever you do don't drop your heads'.
"They are a good group and they really do stick together and if anything we are a little bit disappointed we did not win the game."
While Hull City boss Phil Brown said the referee's decision to award Fuller a penalty cost them the chance to win the match, Pulis believes the matter was much more clear-cut.
"From one of the angles you think it is a little bit debatable, but from the other two angles he has definitely caught his back leg."
The Stoke manager says he is happy with how his side has started the season and he revealed the chairman has given his backing to bring in one or two fresh faces in the January transfer window.
