Arsene Wenger says Emmanuel Adebayor has a 50-50 chance of facing Aston Villa this weekend.
Adebayor has missed Arsenal's last two games after picking up an ankle injury in the 2-1 defeat to Stoke a fortnight ago.
Wenger will give the Togo international a fitness test on Friday before deciding whether or not he will be involved against Villa.
"We will assess the situation of Adebayor on Friday," Wenger told Arsenal TV. "He is 50-50."
Wenger is more optimistic that goalkeeper Manuel Almunia, who suffered a head injury in last week's win over Manchester United will be fit to take his place between the sticks.
Wenger said: "We have to assess Almunia too. He got that knock on his head against Manchester United and until now we have not exposed him.
"He has to go into a normal [training] game to see how he deals with it. So he is 70-30 at the moment."
The Gunners will be without the suspended Robin van Persie and the injured Emmanuel Eboue.
