Life at Corinthians:
Jô played for Brazilian side Corinthians during the years of 2003–2005. He made 85 appearances scoring 13 goals. But he was later transferred to Russian club CSKA Moscow in 2005.
CSKA Moscow:
Jô scored 14 goals in his first 18 appearances for the CSKA Moscow. In the UEFA Champions League scoring two goals in the matches against Inter Milan.
Manchester City(2008-)
Jô joined English Premier League club Manchester City on July 2, 2008 for a club-record fee, which has not been officially disclosed, but believed to be in the region of £18,000,000 - £20,000,000. City had to fight off interest from other clubs including Spanish Primera Liga side Valencia. Jô will wear the number 14 shirt during the 2008/09 season.
