Maik Taylor has vowed to fight for his first-team place following the arrival of Joe Hart at Birmingham.
Having played a major part in the Blues' promotion achievements last season, the long-serving goalkeeper insists he still has a key role to play at St Andrews.
His position, however, has been cast in doubt after boss Alex McLeish agreed a season-long loan deal with Manchester City for their out-of-favour shot-stopper.
The Blues finally clinched the deal having been linked with Hart on numerous occasions.
Taylor, though, insists he is not fazed by the signing, saying: "Joe Hart's name has been linked with Birmingham in the papers for a while and I have not had a problem with that.
"The gaffer is trying to strengthen the squad in every position.
"I will work hard when pre-season gets underway and am more than happy to fight for my place."
