Potters looking to strengthen

Stoke City have confirmed they are working hard behind the scenes on new signings, but refused to divulge who they have targeted.

Manager Tony Pulis is keen to bolster this squad after The Potters defied the critics by retaining their top-flight status in their debut Premier League campaign.

Stoke have been linked with a host of players this close-season including the likes of Rosenborg's Vadim Demidov, Middlesbrough's Robert Huth and Swedish midfielder Andres Vasquez.

Although the club are yet to announce any new signings so far, chief executive Tony Scholes insists the club are scouting players and eager to freshen up Pulis' squad.

"Yes, we are looking at players," Scholes confirmed to the club's official website.

"It might be the summer but Tony (Pulis) and his team of people are still working very hard.

"There are still games that we are following and still international games that we've got scouts looking at.

"The work is being done, conversations are being held but you won't be surprised to hear me say that I won't comment on any individuals until any deals are done.

"I think it's always dangerous in any sport to rest on your laurels.

"You need to change things around, you need to keep things fresh and no doubt that Tony will be looking to improve wherever we can."
