Crouch plans Pompey stay

Peter Crouch's agent has assured Portsmouth supporters that his client has no intention of leaving the club.

The England international has been strongly linked with a summer exit from Fratton Park, with uncertainty surrounding the future of a number of Pompey's top stars.

Niko Kranjcar and Sylvain Distin have also become the subject of much speculation, while Glen Johnson has agreed to join Liverpool in a big-money deal.

Crouch was feared to be set to follow his international team-mate to pastures new, with no shortage of takers willing to snap up the towering frontman.

However, those reports appear to have been laid to rest by his agent's insistence that no move is on the cards.

"There has been nothing from other clubs for Peter Crouch," Jonathan Barnett told The News.

"He still has a contract with Portsmouth and he intends to be there next season. He has no intention of moving on."

Crouch recently raised concerns over the instability at Pompey as they wait for Sulaiman Al-Fahim's proposed takeover to be completed.

He revealed that players wanted answers before committing to the South Coast club, but did stop short of suggesting that he was keen to leave.
