Marouane Chamakh has announced that he plans to stay with Bordeaux next season.
The highly-rated Moroccan had been expected to leave the French club during the summer after previously expressing a desire to play in the Premier League.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with Chamakh, who has produced a series of excellent performances in recent months.
The 25-year-old helped Bordeaux claim the Ligue 1 title this term and now wants to remain with the club for the 2009/10 campaign.
He still hopes to play in England at some point in the future but does not want to abandon Les Girondins.
"I will stay here next season, I want to be part of the club," Chamakh told skysports.com.
"I like the team spirit here. It is true I wanted to leave and I want to realise my dream of playing in the Premier League, but I owe something back to Bordeaux.
"I will stay next season. I want to be part of this great team and we are looking forward to next year's Champions League."
