Pepe Reina has told that Liverpool must start turning their undoubted potential into silverware.
The Reds, who narrowly missed out on the Premier League title this season, have gone three years since they last claimed a major honour.
The calibre of the players within their squad suggests that this barren spell will end sooner rather than later, but it has given cause for concern to those striving to bring success to Anfield.
"I think every year we are improving and growing up, so it's time to get something back now in terms of titles," Spanish shot-stopper Reina told skysports.com.
"It is probably the best squad I have played with at Liverpool, but we have to show now what we can do."
Any hopes Liverpool have of landing a trophy next term must be based on solid foundations, with it imperative Reina and co. maintain the high standards they have set over the last few seasons.
"It's down to the team," said the former Villarreal man.
"We all defend and we all attack. I am happy with my form personally. I could have played better at some points but the season is full of good and bad moments.
"It is not just about the back four though. Liverpool have a great work-rate and we all try and help each other.
"I think consistency is key for us as a whole and we have to try and repeat it again next year."
One man who will not be around to help out in the 2009/10 campaign is Sami Hyypia, with the Finnish defender set to complete a summer switch to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
Reina admits the experienced centre-half will be greatly missed after 10 years at Anfield, but understands the 35-year-old's desire to find regular first-team football elsewhere.
"He has probably been the best team-mate I have ever had. In the dressing room he is the most professional. He is a great guy," added Reina.
"It will be a big, big miss for Liverpool but also as a friend. We must wish him all the best and he deserves now to play every Sunday for Bayer Leverkusen and to keep going strong."
