Portsmouth manager Paul Hart has admitted that contract talks are on hold until the side's Premier League future is determined.
The likes of Sol Campbell, Sean Davis and Nwankwo Kanu's current deals are due to expire in the summer.
Discussions over fresh terms, though, will not be opened until Pompey seal their fate, with three points needed to guarantee their survival.
Hart said in the Daily Mirror: "I don't know how you can make a decision on players when you don't know if you are staying in the league. We have to stay up first.
"I'm here until the end of the season and dealing game to game. Whatever decisions need to be made won't be made now and may not necessarily be made by me."
Hart also hinted that he would be keen to prolong his stay at Fratton Park, adding: "In a perverse way I've quite enjoyed my time in charge.
"It has probably rekindled something I didn't want to admit was there. I made a career decision to go back into youth development."
