Cheltenham have confirmed that highly-rated youngster Jamie Edge is set to join Arsenal.
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the 15-year-old midfielder for some time and have already watched him at close quarters.
Edge has trained with Arsenal and played in a youth-team clash against Portsmouth, while he also represented the London giants in a recent Under 16 tournament in Italy.
He now looks set to follow in the footsteps of a long list of young players who have progressed under the watchful eye of Arsene Wenger.
Cheltenham have struck an undisclosed agreement with the Premier League club and are happy with the deal.
The transfer could now be finalised in the near future if Edge accepts the personal terms offered by Arsenal.
"Cheltenham Town have reached a financial agreement with Arsenal for the transfer of Jamie Edge," Robins chairman Paul Baker told the club's official website.
"We believe it is an excellent deal for the club both in terms of the money we will receive this season and next and further payments that become due depending upon the progress Jamie makes at both club and international level.
"It is a particularly exciting opportunity for Jamie who now has to agree personal terms with Arsenal before the deal can be confirmed."
