Brown expecting tough task

Hull City manager Phil Brown admits his side will be facing a huge test against Manchester United on Sunday.

Brown's side go into Sunday's game with their Premier League future in their own hands, knowing a victory against United will guarantee their place in the top-flight.

However, they actually only need to match Newcastle's result - although defeat against United could mean they are dragged back into the bottom three.

United are ready to rest some of their big names with the UEFA Champions League final the following Wednesday, but Brown is under no illusions that no matter what side is put out they will be formidable opponents.

"It doesn't matter what side he [Sir Alex Ferguson] puts out, could be first, second, or even third choice - they will give a good account of themselves because they are playing for Manchester United and are representing one of the top clubs in the world," he told Sky Sports News.

"It is not going to be easy, no doubt about it, and we just have to maintain our level of performance that we produced on Saturday and the drive and determination to stay in the Premier League and if we can do that, that is as much as we can do - it will be a party atmosphere."

Brown admits Hull need to produce the sort of performance they gave in the 1-1 draw at Bolton at the weekend.

"At the start of the season when we got 20 points from nine games it was always going to make the end of the season easier, however there were no guarantees and then we went on the run we have been on and we have been looking for that spark, and that came back last Saturday," he said.

"Would I have took this position at the start of the season? Probably yes, would I take it now? I have no choice as that is what position we are in."
