Babel not ready to leave

Ryan Babel's agent insists the Holland international winger has no plans to leave Liverpool until he proves himself.

The 22-year-old Dutch flyer arrived with a lofty reputation at Anfield, but has so far failed to secure regular first-team football under Rafa Benitez.

Babel, who has been linked with moves to Aston Villa, Spurs and Arsenal, has predominantly been utilised off the bench by Benitez prompting speculation he could now be offloaded this summer.

Despite the reported interest, Babel's agent Winnie Haatrecht insists the pacey wide-man will not consider leaving until he has succeeded on Merseyside.

"We'll get around the table with Mr Benitez soon to evaluate the season," he told Sportwereld.

"He has not had the time to establish himself.

"Ryan left Ajax for Liverpool because he wanted to win trophies and, so far, he hasn't succeeded.

"Ryan wants to leave Liverpool as a first-team player with a prize in his pocket. He is not ready to go."

Meanwhile, the Reds' reserve-team boss Gary Ablett, who has been in the post for three seasons, will leave the club at the end of the month.
