Uncertainty affecting Jacobsen

Everton defender Lars Jacobsen has conceded the uncertainty surrounding his future is weighing on his mind.

The Dane joined the Toffees on a one-year deal from FC Nurnberg last summer only to be sidelined for several months by a dislocated shoulder.

Jacobsen, though, has recovered from the setback and made his Everton debut in March's 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth.

The 29-year-old is now hopeful of earning a contract extension at Goodison Park, as he aims to play a role in the club's Premier League and FA Cup run-in.

"It's at the back of my mind that I don't know what will happen after the summer," Jacobsen told Ekstra Bladet.

"What I need now are some more matches. The physical fitness is fine. First of all, I have to see how many matches I get to play for Everton."
