Lucas Leiva insists the Premier League title remains a realistic target for Liverpool this season.
The Reds are currently three points adrift of Manchester United in the race for the top-flight crown, and have played a game more than their North West rivals.
The Red Devils would need to suffer a serious slump during their remaining five games to relinquish their standing at the summit, but Liverpool will not be giving up without a fight.
Lucas believes Rafa Benitez's men must be ready to take advantage should United slip and believes that is all the motivation they need to keep battling until the end.
"Of course we will continue to fight because this is a quality which we have shown on many occasions this season," the Brazilian midfielder said in the Liverpool Echo.
"We know it won't be easy because United have more points than us and there are not now many games left.
"But we will continue to give everything we can in every single game and we will see what this will bring us."
