Gabby warns top four

Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Aston Villa can break into the top four of the Premier League, even if it does not happen this season.

Martin O'Neill's men have endured an excellent campaign but they have found it difficult to maintain their form in recent weeks and Arsenal are well placed to land the fourth UEFA Champions League spot.

Agbonlahor has warned that Villa will keep pushing until the end of the season, while Everton are also still in contention.

The striker feels it could be even more competitive at the top next term as he expects Manchester City and Tottenham to put pressure on Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

"This is the best Premier League ever," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"Look at the players over here now, look at the way Liverpool beat Real Madrid and United beat Inter Milan comfortably.

"For us to finish in the top four will be hard but it will be good for the Premiership if someone can do it, whether it's us, Everton or whoever.

"Manchester City and Tottenham will be pushing hard next season. That's why we really want to make it this time because next year it will be even harder when you look at the money that Man City and Spurs will spend.

"Next season there could be seven or eight challenging."

Villa travel to Old Trafford on Sunday to face a Manchester United side beaten in their last two games and desperate to get back on track.

However, Agbonlahor insists that Villa will treat all their remaining games as cup finals in a bid to secure Champions League qualification.

He said: "Now we go to United and I wasn't even born when we last won there but there's no reason why we can't change that.

"Too many teams go there and just give up without even trying.

"Look at teams like Everton, who went there with a positive attitude and almost got something.

"We're treating every game like a cup final and hopefully that will be enough at the end of the season. If it's not, then we build on it next season."
