
A host of clubs have been alerted to the fact that Anderlecht midfield star Lucas Biglia has finally received his European passport.
British clubs have been tracking Biglia for over 12 months, but they have always been put off as they knew that although he is highly-rated - he is yet to make his senior debut for Argentina.
However, Biglia has Italian heritage and having applied for a passport he has finally received the paperwork, which opens him up for a potential move to the Premier League.
It is understand that up to half the Premier League have scouted Biglia at some point in recent months.
Now the news that he does not need a work-permit has filtered through and the interest is as strong as ever.
Biglia, a classy holding midfielder, is now set to be the target of a host of clubs this summer.
His British agent Barry McIntosh admitted interest was now starting to increase again.
"It is great news about his passport," McIntosh told skysports.com.
"The interest was always strong in England but now we have already seen an increase.
"He is a top-class player and we have little doubt he could play in the Premier League. Now he could have that opportunity."
