Yebda interest steps up

Hassan Yebda has reportedly attracted the attention of Arsenal after some eye catching displays for Benfica this season.

It appears that the Gunners will have to fight off the attention of Marseille if they want to get their man after reports in France and Portugal revealed their interest.

Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen on the combative midfielder as he looks to add some steal to his side.

The 24-year-old was the subject of a failed €6million bid from Stoke City in January but a summer move now looks likely.

Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho is also said to be interested in the Frenchman and it is thought that a move to the San Siro or the Emirates would be his preferred destination.

Benfica currently sit third, five points behind leaders Porto, and the former Le Mans ace insists that his mind is solely concentrated on helping his club secure some silverware this term.

"I will talk at the end of the season," he told skysports.com.

"I am trying to push Benfica for the league and we will see at the end of the season."
