Ryan Nelsen believes consistency is the key to Blackburn Rovers securing their Premier League status.
Rovers found themselves battling against the drop in the first half of the campaign, prompting the club's hierarchy to replace Paul Ince with Sam Allardyce.
Allardyce guided Blackburn to a crucial 2-1 win over a struggling Hull City on Sunday, a result that lifted the Lancashire outfit out of the drop zone.
Rovers now tackle high-flyers Everton and Fulham in their next two outings and Nelsen believes a couple of good results would make their relegation rivals nervous.
"A nice run would be welcome. If we can get points against Everton and Fulham, it would make a lot of teams around us very nervous," explained Nelsen.
"We've got the quality and it's a very good start, but we've got some very important games coming up.
"It's going to be consistency that will get you out - and we have to put in consistent performances and continue to get points."
