Tony Mowbray remains insistent he will not change West Bromwich Albion's style of play following a 2-0 defeat at Everton.
The Baggies again caught the eye at Goodison Park with their passing football, but familiar defensive frailties contributed to both Everton goals.
Tim Cahill was allowed to head home a Leighton Baines free-kick unmarked in the first half before a poor clearance from Abdoulaye Meite gave Louis Saha the chance to score the second.
Mowbray accepts the Premier League's bottom club are not equipped for a battle, but he is adamant he will not be tinkering with his footballing philosophy.
"We've been here many, many times this season where we've felt we've done OK," Mowbray told Sky Sports 1.
"I thought we played the type of game I want this team to play, and I think it's the only way forward for us.
"We're not as good at the muck and bullets, if that's the right way to put it, as other teams in this league and sometimes we suffer from that, but generally I think we try to play the game I want us to play and I'm happy with them.
"We lost 2-0 today from a set-play and a bad decision from Abdou, who should have let it go to the keeper and it's no problem.
"I'm generally happy with them and that's where we are. If we can get enough victories to stay in this league, and I can find a few experienced men for this team, I think we won't be a bad team for the Premiership."
Mowbray, whose team remain three points from safety, is not fretting about relegation and feels West Brom are capable of winning enough games at the Hawthorns to stay up.
He added: "We've got some games at home I genuinely believe we can dominate the football match and, if we can stick it in the net, I can't see why we can't win those games.
"I'm not concerned. We knew from day one it would be a tough ask for us this season and we were under no illusions that we were going to storm the Premiership.
"We know where we are is where we are. We're in a fight, but we're not a fighting team, we're a footballing team that tries to play and, if we're going to be successful, we'll do it our way."
