Tony Mowbray has slammed his side's "shocking" defending which gifted Arsenal a 3-1 victory at The Hawthorns.
Arsenal, who had not scored in their last four league outings, netted three first half goals to ensure all three points.
The defeat means West Brom remain rock bottom of the Premier League, and Mowbray insists his defence must tighten up if they have any chance of survival.
"We've got to give ourselves a chance by defending better," Mowbray told Sky Sports.
"Arsenal went four games without scoring in the Premier League yet come here and score three against West Brom. It's hard to take.
"I feel for the supporters, the disappointment of letting in such poor goals.
"People talk about us being too open a team, yet we've got nine men behind the ball for the first goal from the corner but we didn't defend the second phase of it."
Mowbray, whose side have conceded 17 goals in their last 6 games, has vowed to work on their defensive frailties on the training ground in an attempt to get more points on the board.
"It can't keep happening if we're to get the points required. We'll suffer the disappointment of it tonight but we'll get back to the training ground and try to put it right," he said.
"When the goals go in it's very frustrating for everybody and we're disappointed tonight.
"We got back into a game in which we conceded a very early goal, the crowd were there and we had to keep that spirit driving and going but we didn't manage to do it," he added.
