Crouch hopeful of stability

Peter Crouch is hopeful the current managerial team at Portsmouth will remain in place for the long term.

Interim boss Paul Hart and assistant Brian Kidd are to remain in charge at Fratton Park until the end of the season, following the departure of Tony Adams in February.

Pompey sit just two points above the relegation zone, but striker Crouch is optimistic former Nottingham Forest boss Hart can lead the side to safety, and then possibly be rewarded with an extended deal.

The England international told Sky Sports News: "I don't think anyone wants to see anyone lose their job. We didn't want Tony Adams to lose his job, but so be it.

"We have got Hart and Brian Kidd in now, and hopefully we can have that bit of stability and get enough results to see them stay at the club."

Of Adams' reign, Crouch added: "It is difficult to put your finger on reasons why (things did not work under Adams).

"We all enjoyed working under Tony Adams but things didn't click, and it wasn't to be.

"But we are moving forward now, I think we all believe in the people we have got in charge. We need to make sure we get out of this position."
