Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce felt West Ham's goal should not have stood in their 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.
The Hammers took the lead in Lancashire when Mark Noble slotted home from Diego Tristan's lay-off, but Allardyce felt Luis Boa Morte was offside in the build-up to the goal.
While substitute Keith Andrews equalised shortly after half-time Rovers were unable to find a winner, leaving ex-Bolton man Allardyce far from happy with Chris Foy's assistant.
"We're all very disappointed that we've not clinched the three points," said Allardyce after the match.
"I can't ask any more for the amount of effort, passion and commitment they've given today.
"We had two goals disallowed for offside, but unfortunately the key area lies with the West Ham first goal. Nobody can argue that is not offside. We don't quite know why the assistant referee hasn't given it from such a very, very good position.
"So we had a kick in the teeth there having played the first half well. We had some good opportunities and found ourselves a goal down.
"Rather than the players feel sorry for themselves and losing their nerve they come out and put what was a nearly complete performance together for 45 minutes by completely dominating the opposition.
"After we scored it looked like there was only going to be one winner, but unfortunately balls sometimes don't bounce in the right area for your players and I have to say there was some heroic defending from West Ham.
"We're disappointed we've not won three points. In many ways it is our fault, but also it's the fault of the referee's assistant. It's a hard one to take."
