Everton starlet Jack Rodwell has agreed a five-year contract with the high-flying Premier League outfit.
The 17-year-old midfielder scored his first goal for the club in Sunday's 3-1 FA Cup success over Aston Villa.
Rodwell has expressed his delight at opening his account for The Toffees and hopes his goal is the first of many.
However, Everton are set to secure his services on a long-term basis, after agreeing a five-year deal and only a few formalities remain to be concluded before he officially puts pen to paper.
"Just to play for Everton is an honour, but to get the goal, I am made up," he told the club's official website.
"I've had other chances and I'm glad it's out of the way, hopefully there's more to come.
"My ambitions are just to keep working hard and when I do get on to make an impression."
