Middlesbrough defender Chris Riggott faces up to six weeks on the sidelines through injury.
Riggott picked up a knee injury during last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Manchester City.
The former Derby defender was forced off after 68 minutes at Eastlands with the problem.
Scans have shown that Riggott has torn his medial knee ligament which will rule him out for up to six weeks.
The news is a major blow for Gareth Southgate's plans as he looks to guide his side to safety.
